כלכלת סביבה היא ענף בכלכלה שמטרתו ליצור מסגרת תיאורטית להבנה ולניתוח של תהליכים סביבתיים מנקודת מבט כלכלית ולבחון אפשרויות ליישום כלים שיביאו בחשבון את השיקולים הסביבתיים כחלק משיקולי השוק. תחום כלכלת הסביבה עוסק, בין היתר, בניהול מיטבי של משאבים טבעיים כמו אוויר נקי, שטחים פתוחים, קרקע ומים. במאמר זה דנו בהיבטים שונים של נושא זה בהקשר של הפעילות החקלאית בישראל.

Intensive agricultural activity over large areas on earth, may lead to biodiversity loss.
