היבטים בכלכלת סביבה בהקשר החקלאי

כלכלת סביבה היא ענף בכלכלה שמטרתו ליצור מסגרת תיאורטית להבנה ולניתוח של תהליכים סביבתיים מנקודת מבט כלכלית ולבחון אפשרויות ליישום כלים שיביאו בחשבון את השיקולים הסביבתיים כחלק משיקולי השוק. תחום כלכלת הסביבה עוסק, בין היתר, בניהול מיטבי של משאבים טבעיים כמו אוויר נקי, שטחים פתוחים, קרקע ומים. במאמר זה דנו בהיבטים שונים של נושא זה בהקשר של הפעילות החקלאית בישראל.

Intensive agricultural activity over large areas on earth, may lead to biodiversity loss. This loss may be mitigated by keeping natural and semi-natural patches within agricultural fields to allow the maintenance of biological diversity. Thie study was conducted in an agroecosystem comprised of small isolated patches nested within agricultural fields.

Spatial and temporal variation in sugar availability for insect parasitoids in agricultural fields and consequences for reproductive success

Our ability to improve biological control of insect pests depends on our understanding of factors that limit the reproductive success of their natural enemies in the field. Pest control by parasitoids in agricultural fields can be compromised by the availability of sugar resources. We studied sugar availability for Anagrus parasitoids that parasitize the eggs of leafhopper pests (genus Erythroneura) in vineyards in northern California.
